?La Ultima Persona? Who is the last person?

This is a unique Cuban System of shouting “ El Ultimo” or “ La Ultima Persona” when any Cuban approaches a queue at a bus Stop, bank, bakery, café teria or any other place. The last person in the line is supposed to answer “ Yo “(I) . Subsequently, when a new person shouts el ultimo you have to answer “Yo” and the process continues.

This System has two clear cut advantages-

1) It brings discipline and order in the functioning of the Queuing system

2) It breaks to ice to initiate talk with the people in the queue.

So when next time you approach a queue in Cuba don’t forget to shout El Ultimo and demonstrate your cubanidad!!
