Cuban Laptops

IF you think that this blog is about the availability of laptops to the Cubans or manufacturing of laptops in Cuba after the reform process initiated by President Raul Castro then you are wrong!!


This is about the real laptops which the Cubans have . I’m speaking literarily about the word Lap Top. The Cuba public transport system has scope for improvement. Now with the new Chinese buses ,bought on soft loans, the situation is improving.

However, the buses are crowded and there is no space to sit. But the Cuban have the tradition of sharing ,thanks to the socialism of Fidel. If one seat is empty the boy friend (Novio in Spanish) will sit there and his girl friend (Novia in Spanish)will be his lap top.

But this is only one part of the story, this is Cuba and its different . Many times the girl friend will sit and the boy friend will be her laptop (can you imagine this in India !!!). It doesn’t stop here. Many time one person has two laptops- one for each lap. One side for his girl friend and on the other his friend(Amigo in Spanish). It happens only in Cuba and I really appreciate their affection and sharing nature.

By these standards, I’m sure that Cuba would be having the highest per capita laptops in entire Latin America!!!
